2010 SHTP

Many of you may know already, but last Monday I attended the SSS Medical Seminar (a really good one, actually) and, at the end, we signed up for 2010 Singlehanded Transpac.

Still lots of work to do, but if everything goes well, I expect to be sailing under the Golden Gate Bridge towards Hanalei Bay, Kauai, on June 19th...

Great news Santi.
I visited the finish line in February - my first vacation in Kauai - I stood on the pier & took a good look at the anchorage.
The trip allayed a lot of doubts about: entering Hanalei Bay (the surf was very high on that day but a daylight entry in mid-winter still looked OK); anchoring a Mini anchoring there; & getting ashore without having to carry a dinghy.
It may be possible to have a local contact who could provide you with a big anchor and an inflatable when you arrive.
