One more time the start is on a Friday.
Am I the only one who don't like a start on a Friday ?
Saturday would be much better for friends, eventual sponsors... and in many country you never start a journey on a Friday (bad luck)

I am with you ... We should start Saturday or even Sunday .. the layover in Bermuda is too long already and that would make it easier for people to come watch the start.

I think we start on Friday so the fleet is out of NYC basin for the Season Opening on Saturday the 4th. I asked this question and in my old age I think this is the answer I got back.

If it matters, I can ask again.

It would definitely make sense to start on a Saturday...
Regardless, for me, I will be towing my boat from the west coast and look forward in participating to this race for the first time!

Thanks for posting the link to the race NOR and information.

Not that this is put up or shut up time for anyone, but I have been asked by the Race Committe on how many Minis will be in the Bermuda 1-2 next June?

I'm going to be there with a boat. The eKo or the Dix.

Dave C. ?  Christian R.?  Philippe L.?  Sylvain L.?  Kendall F.? (Hey he has to come out and play sometime....)  Jay Sharkey?  Adrian B.?  Drew W.?  Denver H.?  Jeffery D.?  Jerome?

Who else?

Inquiring minds want to know.....

Hi Sam,

I would love to do this race.
Costs are a big issue though & a lack of $s prevented me from doing the race in 2009.
So a huge "maybe" again for 2011.

So I would like to try & get someone to share the cost - a couple of scenarios:
1)  Someone who wants to do the DH leg contributes 40% of total B 1-2 costs excl tow to & from BC.
2)  Someone who wants to do the SH & DH legs contributes 60% of total B 1-2  costs excl tow to & from BC.

The race costs would include:
Entry fees, launch & haul out, moorage, raft-rental, some safety gear, food, drink, charts, weather info, sail repair, insurance, sat-phone rental(?) - what have I missed?

Anyone out there interested?

Taking it easy this year, but will be back for the 2011 race! Not quite sure how time off work will pan out yet. Might just do the single handed part and have somebody else cruise or race the boat back.

Adrian,

Contact me about sharing the B1-2 costs for next year, and we can see if we can make it happen.
(btw - I'll be in Vic in Sept and Dec.).

Thanks,
Michael

Pls contact me if anyone is considering a crewmember for the dh portion. Personaly I would like to get extended time on the mini before seriously entering the mini class. I would appreciate the opportunity.

Thanks,
Michael
