Might it be possible for Fred to give us a detailed commentary, including translations of some French language posts & Classe Mini announcements for the 2009 race?
It was really helpful to have a thread moderated for us by Fred in 2007.
Can we have a repeat contribution in 2009?

I talked to Fred about this earlier this month.

The MT 09 website has promised him greater and more current English coverage this year. The time commitment required was very significant on Fred's part in 2007 and he is not able to make that again in 2009.

Maybe one of our French speaking and English writing neighbors to the North, (Sylvain, Phillipe, Huh?) would volunteer to do this if the MT 09 website fails to come through on it's promises.

Otherwise, Google translate will have to do and we can guess on what it means.... ;-)

For anyone who is in the Seattle area, on January 22 Craig and I will be doing a talk about our TransAt experience at CYC Seattle (www.cycseattle.org). Present plan is to start at 7 PM, with the bar opening at 6:30.

Got this from Jesse Rowse:

Hello all,

I finally got around to doing a full write up about my experience racing across the Atlantic Ocean alone against 84 other boats in the Mini Transat. (Download the story below.) I have been home now for a little over 2 months and, as I'm sure many of you can relate to, I was rather quickly consumed by working full time and generally getting my life put back together after two years of being somewhat absent. I want to thank all of you that have supported me throughout this project, I never would have completed such a massive undertaking otherwise. I hope you all enjoy the story and that it properly conveys what an amazing trip it was.

All the best,

-Jesse
