Requirements for Membership - Members must be at least 21 years old
- Members may be of any race, sex or nationality
- Passion for Mini boats and for the sea
- Paid membership fee - $50.00 US
Membership Goals - Build a governing organization that promotes Open Class racing in 6.5 meter Mini boats in the United States
- Bring together a group of men and women who share a love of the sea, a passion to sail 6.5 Mini boats and have a desire for real adventure
- Promote safe sailing and challenging ocean racing competition
- Establish 6.5 Mini boat fleets in all coastal regions and the Great Lakes of the United States
- Crown male and female national champions each year
- Establish and maintain a standardized body of rules to ensure safety and fair competition
- Train and educate the finest single-handed ocean racing sailors in North America
- Ensure that Mini sailing remains exciting and fun
- Build friendship and camaraderie among MCUS members and their families
- Assist members to compete in international Mini racing events
